As you all know, this is festival time, which means I am incredibly busy trying to keep up with show stock, special orders, and all the other details of running a small business.
First a little bit about me....I am relatively new to the stained glass world. But once I got started, I couldn't stop. Once my finished pieces began to look less like a hot mess, and more like art, I decided to take this show on the road. I began doing festivals just this year, with the first one being in February (inside of course!)
I have now done nine shows and/or festivals. I've discovered that attending these shows can be hard work, but can be very rewarding too. From several of these shows, I have taken special orders for larger windows than what I take to the shows. And this is what I love most about working with stained glass.
I've worked with other forms of glass over the years, and had always wanted to try stained glass work. Now, I am discovering a hidden talent that is also very therapeutic. I lose hours every day, while cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering and cleaning my stained glass art. what makes this even better is when show attendees show appreciation for my work, and buy a piece or two to take home.
So this is my first post on my first ever blog. I am going to try to figure out how to post some pics of my art. Please feel free to comment, critique, or ask questions.
